With the Supreme Court decision on health care reform behind us, one-third of employers are looking to the November 2012 elections and development of the exchanges before reconsidering their health care strategy. This is just one of the findings from Towers Watson’s 2012 Health Care Changes Ahead survey, conducted online in July. The results, based on the responses of 440 employers, offer insights into the health care strategies and plan changes employers are considering for 2013 and beyond. They also affirm employers’ commitment to providing health care benefits for now, but find that a significant minority is very likely to follow the lead of other large employers in their industry regarding ongoing sponsorship of health benefits for active employees.
