Towers Watson acquires HRS

Acquisition of leading Swedish-based consultancy positions Towers Watson for further growth in the Nordic region.

London, New York - Monday 6 September, 2010 - Towers Watson (NYSE, NASDAQ: TW), a global professional services firm, has acquired HRS, a Swedish-based consultancy specialising in executive compensation and employee rewards.

“For Towers Watson, this acquisition is a logical next step in building our presence and brand in Sweden and the Nordic region generally,” said Babloo Ramamurthy, Regional Manager, EMEA for Towers Watson. “We know that HRS has a strong reputation in the local market for the excellent work it does, and the firm’s expertise aligns well with our broader set of services in the talent, reward and benefits areas. We will now have an unmatched pool of talent that clients of both organisations can access for greater depth and breadth of expertise.”

Formed in 1992, HRS is highly regarded in the Nordic market where it primarily operates. Its full set of offerings includes: executive compensation, incentive design and employee pay; pension design and global coordination; performance management and compensation benchmarking; and market analysis, due diligence and integration support for merger and acquisition activity.

“By bringing HRS into Towers Watson, we can realise our strategy of expanding the services we provide to all our Nordic clients and ensuring their access to the unparalleled quality and services of a global leader in people, financial and risk management,” said Ake Flintull, formerly the Managing Partner of HRS and now Managing Consultant of Towers Watson services in Sweden. “I am personally delighted to align our firm with a company that is so strongly committed to quality, innovation and excellence in client service. I believe both our clients and our staff will benefit from this transaction.”
