Melbourne – 15 December, 2015 – Leading global professional services firm Towers Watson (NYSE, NASDAQ: TW) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ewan Taylor as senior consultant within the Australian executive compensation team.

Head of executive compensation, Jon Finlay, says Ewan’s background makes him an excellent addition to the team, given the increased regulatory and governance focus on executive and director remuneration in superannuation.

“Ewan’s involvement with superannuation goes back to the early days of award and industry superannuation funds in the 1980s, when he was involved with the establishment of the Australian Retirement Fund (now part of AustralianSuper), where he was the inaugural company secretary,” Jon said. “Ewan was subsequently a superannuation consultant for 10 years, advising trustee boards and companies on a wide range of superannuation-related matters. For the last 15 years, Ewan has been a trusted adviser to the boards and remuneration committees of ASX-listed and other companies on all aspects of executive remuneration, but with a particular focus on the development of effective remuneration policies and frameworks for directors and senior executives and the design and implementation of equity-based executive incentive plans and non-executive director and general employee equity plans.

“With the emerging governance and market environment, superannuation funds need to ensure they are considering the right matters in determining competitive pay structures. Ewan’s experience in the superannuation industry will be of enormous benefit in helping funds achieve good alignment between their pay design and their culture.”

A qualified lawyer, Ewan holds a Bachelor of Economics degree with First Class Honours and a Bachelor of Laws degree, both from Monash University, as well as a Diploma of Superannuation Management. He is based in Towers Watson’s Melbourne office.
