LONDON, 8 December, 2015 –Towers Watson has appointed Marcus Bowser to the position of UK Life Sales and Practice Leader as the latest in a series of European leadership appointments. It follows the appointments of Tammy Richardson, David Ovenden and Frédéric Traimond to its Risk Consulting and Software (RCS) business leadership team as it pursues a strategy to expand its insurance advisory, solutions and software business.

In this senior-client facing role, Marcus will be working with some of the largest life insurance companies at a time of market volatility, when they are being increasingly challenged to offer products that provide stable profits while using capital efficiently. With more than 15 years of experience in the life insurance industry, Marcus has held a number of senior positions with Aviva, S&P and PwC. He specialises in finance, risk and capital management; has a track record of thought leadership, project delivery and relationship management; and is also Chair of the Actuarial Profession’s Risk Board.

Claire Farrelly, RCS EMEA Life Sales & Practice Leader for Towers Watson, said: “I am delighted that Marcus has joined our team. His keen understanding of UK life insurance industry issues, and a strong commitment to results, teamwork and thought leadership will undoubtedly add significant strength to the business as we grow and develop our UK life business.”

Marcus Bowser said: “I’m excited to be joining such a highly regarded company and relish the challenge of further strengthening Towers Watson’s market-leading business in the UK.”

Claire Farrelly said: “Marcus’ addition to our leadership team reflects our commitment to bring new ideas to the table at a time when the nature and range of business and software solutions being sought by our life insurance clients in the UK and around Europe continue to evolve.”
