According to the findings from our Annual Best Practices in Health Care Employer Survey, employers’ confidence that they will offer benefits 10 years from now rose from 44% in 2015, to 54% in 2016, and to 60% in 2017. Even as questions grow about the law’s future, employers continue to focus on controlling costs and adopting solutions to improve the effectiveness of their health care programmes. At this point in time, it looks like the ACA is here to stay until further notice.

Employers have good reason to continue to focus on costs. Trend is expected to continue to rise between 6% and 7% in 2017. At that rate, total costs (for employer and employee) will approach and perhaps exceed $13,000 in 2017 and 2018.
