How must the HR function evolve in order to focus on the vital issues related to an organization's business while at the same time ensuring delivery of HR services? To answer this question, one must understand how the looming changes in the global business environment will affect future skill requirements as well as global talent supply and demand. It is equally critical to grasp the principles — ranging from logic-driven analytics to risk leverage — that will serve as a foundation for a new strategic HR model. In this paper, we present the HR Function of the Future Model, which is focused on HR governance, talent delivery and how HR engages with various constituents. This operating approach will enable HR to move beyond its traditional boundaries to work more efficiently and with greater business relevance.
